And the way this is currently solved is embarrassing for apple considering they claim to respect users privacy decisions. When signing in with an apple id, iCloud automatically becomes enabled - without asking the user and no way of opting out.
Then a ton of iCloud services are enabled by default like contacts, calendar, location sharing. As a user who cares about their data and privacy I find this highly bewildering. Logging out of the apple id then disables icloud. But also prevents the new 2 factor authentication mechanism to be used. This is not at all implemented in a user- and privacy-friendly way. I wish apple had done a more thorough job. App Store was crashing and on when it didn't crash just showed a blank white screen.
