If you? Not at all what I was expecting. A very intimate account of Mr B's life made all the more poignant because it is read by the man himself. Here is a man who has lived by the seat of his pants! Morally questionable, yes and yet wonderfully honest and down-to-earth. A real emotional rollercoaster where we are mercifuly spared spoonfuls of Virgin PR.
For the most part, Richard manages to leave his ego out of the equation and leave us with a well-rounded overview of how he got to where he is. Hugely inspiring to be who we are. I'd like to add, he cooks a very nice pizza :- Thanks RB. Interesting and inspiring, a must read for all budding entrepreneurs. I didn't realise RB actually read it himself until I started listening so that was a big plus to begin with.
I absolutely loved this book. Richard has had an amazing life and he talks through how he has built a brilliant, global business and kept his reputation throughout.
All the 'Persona' hype aside, this is still a very worthwhile read, even when he jumps out of the helecopter!! Read by the man himself, anyone who takes on B. I was addicted to listening to Richard talk about his life, trials, tribulations, loves and his businesses.
It's made me love him for who he is and what he stands for: fun, honesty, hard work and adventure. I recommend this audiobook very highly. It is exciting from the start, and is very entertaining. I now understand what happened with the record company and with Virgin Atlantic which I was not able to fathom at the time.
It's a stunningly candid listen. Really liked this book learned a lot about Richard and how he grew up and what is life story is about, i laphed and cried during some of the book and very happy i bought it. Very glad i got this book. Just brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyable read, amazing stories. Richard Branson is an amazing man who has had an amazing life! I didn't want it to end. Highly recommended! I loved this book. Richard Branson is an excellent storyteller.
I'll be reading again in the future. Richard Branson is a wonderful story teller, I loved hearing about the early days and how he progressed in the world to where is landed in the 90s.
I think the story could be more streamlined though, sometimes little pieces here and there were random, or not complete. The last story around British Airways was brilliant, this was the detail about his life I was so keen to hear about. Also there are occasions where you can hear the birds or background noise "oh so lightly" which I think added a really cute tone to the book. I enjoyed it and will be listening to his next book too. It is so amazing to hear the story of such business and life adventure from the man himself.
I expected a gripping story but was mostly just a list of RB's achievements. But an interesting entrepreneurs's story none the less. I absolutely enjoyed it and will be restarting it again as soon as I finish this sentence. Richard is one person who is not interested in tip toeing through life hoping to make it safely to death.
Great book Narrated by Sir Richard Branson. Great story, interesting and intriguing. Awesome book, naratived by Mr Branson himself. I listened an other from Rchard Branson which was not as interesting - for me - as this one.
